New type rack screenwiper.

Dear Sirs,

We thank you for your letter of November 30th., and note the comments therein regarding the screenwiper which has been on test in France.

To take the second complaint first, when fitted on the car the pressure on the blade, measured at a distance of 5" from the wiper spindle, was, to the best of our knowledge, between 4.25 and 5 ozs. We are arranging to send to you two replacement arms which we find to be between these two limits, and shall welcome your further comments, as we do not wish to exceed this pressure if it can be avoided.

Regarding the loosening of the arms in service, perhaps we should have provided a spring washer under the screw head, but we were anxious not to fit any steel part liable to rust on the exterior of the wiper. However, we thank you for bringing the matter to our notice, and we shall be glad to hear your further comments in due course.

Yours faithfully,
JOSEPH LUCAS LIMITED.
