| W/P - Sr. x206 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale}4/KW.4.2.36. Aluminium Composite Brake Drums. With reference to your telephonic enquiry about Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale}14/KW.31.1.36. A complete rear axle is unnecessary, as we have no easy means of driving same. Method of testing consists of mounting the drum on a circular face plate affixed to the shaft of an electric motor: the brake shoes and carrier plate being mounted concentrically. As we have no Hispano axle drawings here, we cannot give you a very accurate description of the pieces we require, and are compelled to leave a certain amount of choice to your discretion; but having in mind a Bentley car, we want the corresponding Hispano-Suiza parts to the following :- 1. Rear Brake Drum. 1. Hub affixed to same, chiefly to act as a distance piece between "end plate" of brake drum and face plate. 1. Set of rear brake shoes, carrier plate for mounting same, complete with all toggle mechanism for actuating shoes. A wheel is not required. The drive will be transmitted to the brake drum via its hub.
