CONNECTING ROD FOR SPORTS PHANTOM. We attach herewith a blueprint of the proposed connecting rods for the Sports Phantom. It will be seen that this is tubular type instead of the usual 'H' section. One of the chief reasons for making this rod is that it is thought to be cheaper production job, although there is a difference of opinion as regards this. We recommend that the Tool Office and the Works give their views as regards producing this rod compared with the standard. We note that R.{Sir Henry Royce} has a fairly open mind and would agree to the 'H' section if it is preferred. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
