ENGINE. Power and acceleration [struck through] up to standard. Carburetter luffs up very badly on the pick up. Acceleration pedal inclined to stick. Engine gears rattle. GEARBOX. Change speed mechanism stuck on one occasion and neither 3rd. or top gear could be engaged. Changing from 3rd. to top gear very lumpy. CLUTCH. Fierce engagement, no sign of slipping. STEERING. Good, with maximum loading of dampers. SPRINGING. Good with maximum load, very little tendency to roll when cornering, control working satisfactorily. On completion of run both oil pipe connections to rear dampers were loose and losing oil. The olive joints do not nip the pipe. DAMPERS. The rear elbows were found loose, and leaking oil. There are no audible knocks. There is a slight weep of oil from the glands. The variable loading worked satisfactorily. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Gave no trouble after new half of battery was fitted.
