re CHASSIS NO. B.58-GA.
Summers.
---------------------------

Herewith is an extract from a letter we have received from Mr. Summers:-

".........I am very disappointed to read your remarks with regard to the noise in the engine, it is extremely irksome to listen to on a long run. Neither of my other two Bentley suffered from this defect. May I suggest that this complaint be handed to your Experimental Department in the hope that they may be able to find a solution. I certainly cannot contemplate carrying on with it indefinitely."

The noise to which he refers is in evidence at about 1500 r.p.m. and is a tinkling noise which appears to come from the valve mechanism.

We have offered to have the car back again to investigate the matter further but we shall be glad to hear whether you are able to make any suggestions.

We expect to be going over to see R.Summers shortly and will then investigate
