25/30HP OIL CONSUMPTION

At a Conference on the above the question of turned scraper rings was discussed.

Hy{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} had a 25/30 piston with a turned ring fitted. We find on investigation that no 25/30 pistons have been fitted with turned rings. The instruction to fit these rings apply to Bentley only - see memos HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}22/EW26.5.36 and BY/OS1/EH11/11.6.36 - we find that 18 sets have been fitted.

As the rings are interchangeable we have requested the Works to fit the remainder of the 50 sets of turned rings to the 25/30HP instead of Bentley.

Will By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} please instruct.
