-2- contd. (as we have already indicated in connection with our request for instructions for experimental auto switch arrangements). This you will note only differs from the original S.S. arrangement in suppressing M in the first "on" position. In this case (a) There is no need of the additional magneto switch. (b) The extension of the dynamo armature contact to the first "on" position is considered an advantage in other respects than those arising from the burning of the contacts. It will be seen therefore, that the two experimental switchboxes asked for, one of which is considered right when the electrical system contains no additional automatic switch, and the other when it contains the type of auto charge control switch which we have developed, are similar to one another except for a relatively minor modification. As we have explained to you, we are anxious to have instructions as soon as convenient to enable us to realise one or two auto charge control systems on experimental cars. If one of these could be ready in time, we could put it on chassis 20-EX, which is now being re-constructed. EFC. | ||
