-2- EFC2/ADL1.9.30 contd. The fitting of tungsten contact points has improved the contact point reliability considerably. The points will run 10,000 miles without trimming or cleaning being necessary whilst the wear is negligible. A special test of the magneto on 23-EX has been made on the road subsequent to the 10,000 mile test and the magneto was found to be O.K. The advantages of the fitting of tungsten points to these Watford EW6A. magnetos may therefore be summed up as - (1) Reduction in cost i.e. 3/- per magneto. and (2) Increased reliability in that the points will require less attention and last longer. We are therefore in a position to recommend the standardisation of these EW6A magnetos fitted with tungsten points and accordingly a standardisation sheet is being prepared. EFC. | ||
