REGISTERED OFFICES AND WORKS, KINGSTON BY-PASS, SURBITON, SURREY. YOUR REF. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.14/MA. OUR REF. AD/MEB. 23rd February 1935. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., DERBY. Dear Sirs, In reply to your letter of yesterday's date, it is quite possible that practically all of these instruments would be perfectly satisfactory without any zero set, but if by bad luck in transit they should shift from zero through any slight spring sag, it is certainly an advantage to have means of adjusting them very easily. In the samples we are preparing for you we can slightly reduce the projection of the zero adjustment device, and we believe a slight reduction in this height would prevent fouling the front glass of your instrument board. We wrote you yesterday on this matter and stated that we hoped to let you have these samples during next week, and we shall then be pleased to hear if the alterations we have made meet with your approval, because if so the advantage of the zero adjustment can then remain. Yours truly, WESTON ELECTRICAL INSTRUMENT CO. LTD. [Signature] MANAGING DIRECTOR. Handwritten notes: Top right: 86033 Left margin: RD Please note RD Middle: WST.. Bottom left: Have they arrived?
