For the attention of Mr. Henry. Dear Sirs, Harris Bushes. We enclose drawings SCD.1459 and FCD.1306: the former shows the upper triangle lever and shock absorber in use at the moment, the latter shows the layout of the shackle we are using. Shock Absorber Glands. On your visit here you said that you would prepare a scheme for using a Harris bush to replace the bronze bush and oil seal at present in use and do the duty of both. You already have drawings FB.4717, FB.4718 and FB.4719 showing in detail the shock absorber case and the two bushes that are pressed into it. We trust that these drawings together with the enclosed drawings and the information contained in this letter will enable you to prepare a scheme. We have obtained the following information with regard to loads etc. (1) Type of Motion - Angular oscillation. (2) Static load - zero. Shock loads - ± 700 lbs. per bearing. (3) Angle of Motion - 16°-0-22° (38° total movement) (4) Pin and Eye dimensions - see drawing and note below. | ||
