EAC. CHASSIS WITH SUBFRAME. X9770 We realise that 9-PK car gearbox is not fitted with parts made to your latest instructions. 9-PK, from the first, was only intended to be a mock-up chassis. It was a standard 40/50 which was modified so that we could progress with the subframe bodies before the new 'Phantom' chassis was announced. The original idea was that it would be sent to the Coachbuilders, have the body fitted, immediately it was finished the body would be taken off and the chassis used at another coachbuilders. At the moment however we are making very good progress with 2 EAC. chassis suitable for subframes. The first chassis is the one we are preparing for your own use. We anticipate we may have this ready to bring to WW. in about a fortnights time. This car is fitted with the following improvements over the present standard 'V' series cars :- 1. Chassis arranged to carry body with subframe. 2. Wider dash and bonnet suitable for the above. 3. Radiator with enclosed shutters, 1" deeper matrix. 4. Modified gearbox and change speed and brake lever. 5. Torsionally free 1st. and 2nd. speed pinions. 6. New RR. design luggage grid. 7. Improved petrol tank with reserve compartment and RR. level indicator. 8. Improved front engine guards. contd :- | ||
