SPECTRECodename for Phantom III

Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} was asked to give brief details of his visit to France with SpectreCodename for Phantom III, and to summarise his remarks, he said that the maximum speeds of SpectreCodename for Phantom III and P.II - as 103-TA was in France at the time - were relatively equal. The acceleration was much better than the Phantom and the general controlability at speed much easier.

The riding of the car generally was considered to be good, but not as good as the Cadillac on pavé.

Considered as a first sample of a new model it was found to be good but not considered good enough in its present state for production.

Sr also expressed his views and found the car good when compared with P.II, springing and road holding very nice, acceleration very good, but as a Continental car lacks power and acceleration, in other words power and acceleration could be improved for useful Continental work against the best Continental cars.

Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} suggested that he proposed to concentrate on the improvement of the chassis now as a Town carriage first, and to deal with the question of a Continental model, i.e. more power, speed, etc. afterwards. This proposal was generally agreed to.

Mx{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer}, who was not present at the Meeting, was reported to have said that in his opinion the car was fundamentally
