R.R. 235 B (200 T) To Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} From Bn.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} Copy to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X3339 RE CLUTCH CATCH. Bn{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington}1/W25819. Sales Dept. press us continuously for a device for holding the clutch out instead of using the little wooden block recommended by the Company. I cannot see any reason for recommending the wooden block to our customers and at the same time refraining from fitting a standard catch. The only difficulty I foresee is making the catch in such a way that it cannot be accidentally put into operation. A perfectly safe scheme would be one which could not be put into operation unless the gear were in neutral position. It is just possible that this could be arranged without complication. Will you please prepare schemes with and without inter-connection with the change speed lever. If you find the inter-connection scheme awkward do not attempt it. I have promised Sales that we will do this. Bn.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} | ||
