A41 To HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/JBD.{John B. Dixon - Fuel Systems}9/JH.19.12.38. B.V. SERVO PLATE. We have had trouble with bad bedding of the friction disc on this servo. In every case the bedding of the disc was only along the inside edge of the disc. We find this is due to the machining of the disc and in four cases we have examined the inside edge of the face on which the friction disc is mounted stands .0015 to .002" above the outside. Can you please remedy this. We have also measured the deflection of the disc under load and find that with 700 lbs applied axially the outside edge of the disc only .0005" which is negligible.
