R.{Sir Henry Royce} X.543. - RE STARTING MOTORS 12.4.15. I am in receipt of your telegram of to-day's date referring to particulars of the starting motor. Your assumptions are correct as regards weight, speed and efficiency. The weight is from 35 to 37 lbs. and at 900 revs. per minute the efficiency is 55% and the B.H.P. .54. We hope to make the tests which you requested to-morrow, and have been busy rigging up the tackle up to the present. We have met with some difficulty in obtaining the current we require to do the job. We have now how ever managed to borrow a suitable dynamo from Newton Bros. and this we can obtain tomorrow morning for a few days. We realise the urgency of the matter and will report to you as soon as possible. Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} | ||
