Dear Sir:

Mr A.R.Smith has requested me to acknowledge and thank you for your letter to him of the 28th ultimo requesting that we offer facilities for you to visit our Works on either August 3rd or 4th.

The writer wishes to apologise for the belated reply to your letter but this has been solely on account of the fact that we were not sure whether our Works would be open on the two dates suggested by you. It has now been decided that our August Bank Holiday shall be slightly extended, and our Plant will be closed on both August 3rd and 4th as well as on Monday the 7th instant, and therefore there would be no purpose served by your coming on any of these days.

However, we shall be very happy to make arrangements for you to visit the Plant on any other date you wish to name and if you will kindly inform the undersigned of your wishes in this respect we will be very delighted to make arrangements for your reception.

Yours very truly
FORD MOTOR COMPANY LTD
