REPORT ON 19.G.IV. AT 15,000 MILES.

We should like to draw attention to the acceleration and maximum speed of other cars in comparison with 19.G.IV during our daily runs. We state for example the 20 HP, 6 cylinder, Saloon, Citroen, which costs 38,000 francs. We have had on practically every occasion when we have met this car on the road, had to give way to allow it to proceed, as its maximum speed is equal to our own with approx. the same acceleration, and to try and maintain the lead meant driving with full throttle the whole time. This type of car also maintained a performance equal to ours for a distance of approx. 150 miles. The 24 H.P. Ford is also another car which has a better performance than our own. We state these facts because if we observe a Citroen or a Ford in front of us, we know that it is hopeless to try and pass them until our route diverges.

--------------------

We have had the following failures during the 15,000 miles

(1) Failure of the exhaust system, two manifolds broken.
(2) Failure of the telegauge.
(3) Failure of the bijur supply to the front axle.
(4) Failure of the bijur tank itself.
(5) Failure of the Lucas windscreen wiper.
(6) Failure of the bijur supply pipes fitted on the road springs.
(7) Clutch slipping.
(8) Rear brakes groaning.
(9) Failure of the bijur supply to the rear axle due to banjos working loose.
(10) Wrongly designed connecting links of rear dampers, lubrication choked.
(11) Battery ignition.
(12) Exhaust valves losing their clearance due to hammering in the seats.
