Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Jellying. x457.- Following notes on 69 W.J., first PII at Springfield may interest you. Chassis had side wheel carriers which were however not used, a spare wheel being always dumped in the rear. ① Chassis with ballast box - no jellying. ② Fitted with rough touring body without subframe, with fabric scuttle joined to dash without any friction or stiffness. - Jellied considerably. ③ Rear of car loaded with 1000 lbs in ballast bags to bring frame down to correct level. - jellying reduced. Temporary fabric front mudguards were used. Tyre size 21x7, 20x7, & 19x7 all straight side seem to make no difference. OY Ap 4/30 | ||
