Dear Sirs,

Re Your Letter of Jan. 3rd, 1919.
Black Finish.

We beg to advise you that in regard to the above question the Black Finish which we make a speciality is not what is commonly called "oxydised", i.e. electro-chemically deposited, but it is a japanned enamel.

If you will be good enough to send us samples, we shall be pleased to finish them for you in our Ebony Black finish and return them for your inspection.

As far as wearing is concerned, we can give a very good black finish on steel or iron parts; samples of which we shall be pleased to make for you if necessary.

When you have seen the samples, and should they meet with your satisfaction, we shall be pleased to go into the question of process, or processes, with you.

Yours faithfully,
JOSEPH LUCAS LIMITED.
