COPY. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} From Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 24-EX. X. 7772. X. 8992. We have found the front shock absorbers short of oil so that one of them was not working at all. As we see no signs of leakage we can only assume they were never filled up. We have taken some comparative performance tests with 18-EX and there is very little difference. 24-EX slightly better due to smaller wheels. 18-EX axle Dodd has examined this twice in 9,000 miles and each time he added three syringe full of oil. There is xx signs of slight leakage when one looks for it. The radiator movement on 18-EX would not be complained of although tyres are at 35 lbs. R.{Sir Henry Royce} has agreed to twin aero engine type carburetters for the cars. he has also taken kindly to modified radiator mounting. There is something wrong with our radiator if we fix the shutters full open and fix 18-EX full open taking the same power. 24-EX is 10° hotter. Will you send a note to Paris giving any differences. We are leaving to day and are returning via Germany as proposed. We are calling at Bosch and Maybach factories. We expect to be in Paris Wednesday or Thursday. I shall wire to Hancock to meet me there. Thanks for reports received. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
