winding which will we hope show an appreciable improvement both in cutting in speed and full output speed. If this should be the case, we will submit this machine for your inspection and test.

In regard to the question of the sparking of the auxiliary brushes at high speed, our Electrical Department suggest that perhaps this is due to mechanical reasons, i.e; looseness of brush in holder; brush not thoroughly bedded in; or pressure of brush not correct. These points can, of course, be readily attended to.

With reference to finish, we think that when you see one of our machines made up with die cast end plates, properly stamped brush gear and a ground and stove enamelled carcass, you will be quite satisfied in this respect.

When sending test curves, if you could arrange to let us have these in duplicate, we should be extremely grateful.

We shall be very happy indeed for Mr. Fowler Clarke to visit our Works in order to inspect our standard productions, and as soon as we have reached a normal production stage, we will write you further advising you, so that you can fix up an appointment for our Managing Director - Mr. Gordon Smith - to meet you.

We note that the question of chassis deliveries has compelled you to pass us for the time being, and we presume that this question will be re-opened at some early future date.

In the meantime, we again thank you for the details supplied in your letter, and assuring you that your further esteemed remarks shall have our most careful attention.

We beg to remain,
Yours faithfully,
