The following is a comparison of the weights of
the standard and pedestal pistons :-


WEIGHT.
Complete with Aluminium Gudgeon pin com-
gudgeon pin piston plete without ped-
but no piston only. estals and fixing
rings. bolts.

Standard - 2.648 lbs. 2.000 lbs. .453 lbs.

Pedestal. 2.750 lbs. 1.775 lbs. .336 lbs.

We have since tested - under light conditions -
another set of pedestal pistons in the engine for car 7-EX.
and found them to be quite good and silent in operation.
