Mr Barrington DATE. 9-1-12 In reply to your sheet attached, I think the Lentz hydraulic gear might be extremely useful under certain conditions, such as, say, heavy loads at comparatively slow speeds. The efficiency claimed by the makers is fairly high and when one considers that the gear box, clutch, bevel gear or worm gear are removed, and that petrol is one of the least expensive items of running a car, it might be worth while enquiring into. The best way of doing this would be, I think, to obtain a car fitted with the apparatus and make a number of tests with it.
