NEW PHANTOMCodename for PHANTOM I ACCELERATOR PEDAL.

from W.W.

I have consulted with PN.{Mr Northey} regarding this proposal

We can see no objection to this proposal which is exactly on the lines that we have been urging from the start and we are encouraged to think that the new accelerator pedal will materially add to the comfort and certainty of control of the car.

It is very desirable, however, before these are finally approved that a specimen of each type - B, C and D steering should be fitted to some car or chassis at Derby for final approval by sales.

It is hoped that these specimen pedals will be provided for the purpose of this inspection before the alteration for is put into production. We have had our hands to some extent forced unnecessarily recently, by production being put in hand before the item in question has been fully approved.
