Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} O.E. C.BY. L10 See me x5230 EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}6/H11.3.33. HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} re. 25-HP.Chassis - Oil on Silencers. As discussed with Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} yesterday, now that we have removed the top silencer guard on the 25-HP. car, the question of oil dripping on to the silencer from the brake cross tube appears to be more serious than ever. We agree this is only due to excess oil caused by the free use of the Bijur supply, but the fact remains that oil on the silencer causes fumes which may eventually get inside the body. There is also the possible danger of fire, or should a fire take place it may be put down to this cause, and it is of vital importance that the question of our being blamed for "criminal negligence" should be anticipated.
