1086 EXPERIMENTAL DEPARTMENT. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies}10/JH. 17th. October, 1938. Messrs. Leonard Williams, Great West Road, Brentford, Mddx. Dear Sirs, We wish to thank you for posting on the gearbox flange for our Packard 120. We are still unable to get running however as this part is incomplete. On the gearbox we despatched to you for repairs, the box was complete with fittings at the rear end all ready to connect up with the propeller shaft, the speedometer is connected up to this fitment as we explained in our previous letter. We have now received a bare flange with no large nut for fixing it, and as already mentioned parts are missing which connect up to the speedo drive. We should be very glad if you would inspect the old gearbox and let us have the missing pieces as soon as possible. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
