The origin of this experiment, as far as we are concerned, is EM38/E19314, and we shall be glad to know why these particular springs are being tested, and also why they are termed Exhaust valve springs, seeing that the same springs are used for inlet valves. The reason we bring this point up is because Mr Royce recently instructed us to cancel all tests of valve springs tests made by outside firms with the exception of Terry & Sons'. p.
