Re: American Standardisation Sheets 29-39. --------------------------------------- The above Standardisation Sheets were received here on the 10th inst. 1923 You may remember that it was arranged on February 23rd that the date on which an alteration was to be brought into force was to be inserted on the standardisation sheet and was to be sufficiently far ahead to allow Mr. Royce properly to examine the proposed changes before he authorised their introduction. We give below a statement showing the proposed changes embraced by the above sheets and the dates on which they are to come into force. Will you please let me know if there is any reason why the official understanding has not been adhered to in connection with these sheets. No. 29. Change Gear Box. To cast cross-webs outside box below reverse mechanism as shown on print A-2674. To come into force immediately. No. 30. Const. Mesh Pinion. Const. Mesh Gear. To use ground straight pitch gears of 7s pitch 20° angle, full depth, 26T and 44T. To continue in manufacture. No. 31. Piston. To use modified bedding as shown on print A-2248 leaving a concentric band at base. Proposed to use present bedding. No. 32. Magneto Drive bearing Eccentric Sleeve. To adopt eccentric sleeve in place of present magneto drive oil cover E-17641. To come into force in July next. No. 33. Fiber Pedal Pad. To fit black fiber pedal pad A-5183 to accelerator pedal to replace F-3771, steel pad. As shown on assembly print A-5186/7 attached. To come into force on March 30. | ||
