WRAITH HIGH PRESSURE PETROL PUMPS.

With reference to your Memo. Br.2/H.20.11.40. You will see from Page 57 of the Instruction Book, that the recommended procedure when disconnecting the petrol pump is to remove the cover of the suction strainer in order to prevent ciphering from the petrol tank.

We appreciate that this is not accessible but neither is the petrol pump and the removal of the pump is not supposed to be a job that can be carried out by the customer.

We are astonished that a customer should have a failure of three petrol pumps in three months, in fact, we would say that with the latest high pressure pump, this state of affairs indicates that there is something else wrong.

We have, of course, had an enormous amount of trouble on the small cars we are running at Derby, due to gum in the petrol system causing clogging in the filters. This is a result of Pool petrol.

We do not understand why this customer should have to be rescued on the road three times when he has a petrol pump switch which enables him to ensure that he gets warning before his petrol supply fails.

We should like to know what was found to be wrong with the three petrol pumps which were removed from his car.
