In regard to the broken top spring washer on the endurance run, the proportions of this washer have been unchanged for years, and was designed when the spring loading and the speed of the valve gear was very much less than under the present conditions.

We send you herewith LeC.4812 showing the washer strengthened by making the top recesses smaller in diameter.

The amount of additional metal is slight.

Will you please instruct these washers to be used in conjunction with the larger diameter valve stems.
