Re Chassis No. GSK.68 - J.H. Tangye Esq.

C4/C14.9.26.

It is difficult for us to say definitely that Mr. Tangye will be completely satisfied with the new Steering it is proposed to fit to his car. I have tried this Steering and it is a considerable improvement on his present one, although Trayner says it is not so good as the Steering on the Darracq for the particular trouble the Owner complains of.

As regards the springing, we will see when the car comes what can be done, though it is difficult to know what there is left to do.

Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} has suggested that he supplies us with a special Steering he is using on an Experimental car for Tangye's car, and which is apparently an improvement on the changeover consisting of a new Nut and Worm with a .800 lead. This, however, is a more costly changeover as a new stiffer Column and Box are required in addition to Worm Tube and Nut.

We take it we should be safe in fitting this Column so far as standardised parts are concerned. Will Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} please let us know this?
