Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 車 X4267 C3/C22.3.22. Re Goshawk. X4267 The following is extract from the Minutes of the Sales Conference held yesterday:- "Goshawk Pedals Various members of the Sales Conference had examined the Goshawk Limousine on which the levers had been altered, and all agreed that the space in the driving seat at the present time is insufficient and were of the opinion that even if the pedals were put 1½" further away from the seat still this would be insufficient to give a comfortable driving seat for the man of average height. It was considered that it is essential that more room should be provided, and we would like the Technical Dept. to carefully study this matter. to A copy of this Minute should be sent to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer}; and Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} so that he might mention the matter to R.{Sir Henry Royce} as he is with him now. Meantime HO to get out drawings, and bring before the Coachbuilding Committee any suggestions for increasing the space, including the suggestion which was made that the steering column should be of the "A" type similar to the 40/50 and not the more sloping type that is fitted to the Goshawk, in view of the fact that there is less room over-all on the Goshawk than there is on the 40/50 but nevertheless the "A" column on the 40/50 is essential in order to give the minimum sized covered body."
