X.4333 - GOSHAWK DYNAMO BRUSHES. X4283

We now have further evidence, on examination of
a set of these brushes running on a dynamo on chassis 7GII,
that EG.2 Morganite brushes are satisfactory as an
alternative to our standard Z Le Carbone brushes, and
as such should be kept in mind in case of failure of
supply of Le Carbone.

Probably it is not correct to issue a standard-
isation sheet in this instance as in that case it would
imply that such brushes should be used in parallel with the
others, whereas we do think the standard brushes show a
slight superiority over these EG.2.

Attached is an extract from my assistant's report,
which deals with the examination of this particular set of
brushes.

Careful new year observations of the condition of
the brush and commutator gear on our various experimental
cars, after running various numbers of miles, further
confirms our opinion that our present dynamo, if correctly
assembled and used, is a very reliable machine.
