THE FRAZER-NASH-B.M.W. 16.2-H.P. (9ft. WHEELBASE)
TYPE 327 “FAST TOURER”
FIXED-HEAD COUPÉ and DROP-HEAD CABRIOLET MODELS

With a chassis specification of considerable technical interest, exceptionally attractive coachwork and luxury of equipment, the Type 327 models are among the truly outstanding cars of to-day. Modifications such as lead-bronze bearings and oil radiator are incorporated as a direct result of successful racing experience, enabling these models to maintain without stress cruising speeds that would be impossible with cars of much greater horse-power. Perfect steering and suspension and magnificent road-holding capabilities make these cars a sheer delight to drive.

ENGINE
2-litre ; bore 66 mm. x stroke 96 mm. ; capacity 1,971 c.c. Annual Tax £12 15s. 6 cylinders. O.H. valves operated by pushrods. 4-bearing crankshaft. Lead-bronze connecting rod bearings. Dual downdraught Solex carburetter. Duplex roller chain-driven camshaft. Oil duct feeding from big-end to gudgeon pin bush. Forced-feed lubrication by gear type pump. Oil in circulation passes through oil radiator thus maintaining constant supply of cool oil. Ignition by Bosch coil. Fuel supply from mechanical pump driven from camshaft. Cooling by pump and fan—hand-operated radiator shutters, thus enabling engine temperature always to be maintained at correct temperature under any conditions. Single dry-plate clutch (self-lubricating withdrawal races). 4-speeds all-synchromesh gear-box—top gear ratio 3.9 to 1. Orthodox transmission system by dynamically-balanced propeller shaft to spiral bevel final drive.

CHASSIS
Closed box-section frame of extreme rigidity, with three cross-members. Independent suspension of the front wheels (transverse spring below). Semi-elliptic gaitered springs at rear. Rack and pinion steering—front wheels independently steered. Hydraulic shock absorbers front and rear. Powerful hydraulic brakes on all four wheels controlled by foot-brake, with pistol-grip type hand-brake separately cable-

Chassis equipment includes 14½-gallon rear petrol tank (supply by mechanical pump operated from camshaft) ; all electrical lighting and starting equipment—Bosch—including constant voltage dynamo, sliding armature starter, tandem windscreen wipers, twin horns (situated as in all models behind radiator grilles, these being removable), chromium-plated headlamps (foot-operated dimming action), side-lamps, stop and rear lights ; usual range of instruments (all indirectly illuminated with hand rheostat control) including speedometer, oil pressure gauge, radiator thermometer gauge, petrol gauge and 8-day clock ; Dunlop 5.25 x 16 low-pressure tyres on ‘bolt-on’ disc wheels ; ‘one-shot’ lubrication system ; easy jacking system ; comprehensive tool-kit, etc.
Dimensions : Wheelbase, 9 ft. 6 ins. ; Track (front), 4 ft. 4 ins. (rear) 4 ft. 7 ins. ; Overall length, 15 ft. 1 in. ; Overall width, 5 ft. 3 ins. ; Ground Clearance, 9 ins. ; Turning Circle, 35 ft.

BODY
The four-door five-seater saloon, of all-steel construction, is attractive in appearance and without being ultra-modern the tendency of to-day towards streamlined coachwork is evident in a restrained form. Solidly built as it is, this model again provides proof of one of the inherent principles of Frazer-Nash-B.M.W. design—an unusually high power-to-weight ratio—its weight being 20½ cwt. The interior is upholstered in best quality cloth, and the equipment is comprehensive. Excellent luggage accommodation is provided in the tail. Handsome chromium-plated bumpers are fitted front and rear. A separate catalogue is available on request.
