X5840 19th Dec., 1934. The early part of this memo. was concerning the Cadillac car, and is filed in X.1729a. Re 21 G 1V Oil Pressure. When the oil is cold and the engine running approximately 1000 revolutions, the oil pressure is 32lbs. It goes up to the stop on the guage with higher revolutions. After it has become hot, the oil pressure readings are as follows:- 10 MPH. 14.5 Sq.lbs." 20 " 18.- " " 30 " 22.- " " 40 " 24.5 " " 50 " 26.- " " 60 " 29.- " " 70 " 32.- " " 80 " 39.- " " We have tried one lot of tests with the ignition advanced, but did not obtain any definite results, probably owing to the greasy state of the road. We are repeating the tests. Re Loss of Oil from rear bearing. We noticed when we had the bottom half down that the nemo thread was fouling the flange in the lower half. This was scraped to give the necessary clearance. | ||
