OBJECT OF TEST.
To reduce exhaust noise and vibrations on 20 HP.
TESTER.
T. M. {Mr Moon / Mr Moore} Warwick.
CONDITIONS.
Tests carried out on 7-G-11 and 6-G-11 on the road and dynamometer.
SUMMARY OF TEST.
The proposed alteration to exhaust pipe and method of holding silencer gives the following advantages :-
1. Eliminates vibration on exhaust pipe at low speeds.
2. Reduces other vibrations which can be felt on certain cars.
3. Prevents distortion of exhaust pipe.
4. Reduces boom of exhaust.
We recommend a similar scheme should be considered for the 40/50 HP., if only to avoid the distortion due to expansion on the 40/50 HP. - this is nearly .500".
