corrects the error in building up, except in the case of the top and bottom spring were, on account of the peculiar conditions of bending, the stress given in both cases by the analytical method is more than it should be.
We should also like to say that both the springs on N.sch.788 and 790 are not quite perfect and we should like to do a little more work on them before we look upon them as final, but we are sending them because we wish to shew how we are working, and also if Mr. Royce has any objection to either the method or the results we can take them into account in designing the further springs of the series before we get too far.
