X2200. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}2/KT. Sept. 30th,1932. Bendix-Perrot Brakes Ltd, Kings Road, Tyseley, B'ham. For the attention of Mr. Clark. Dear Mr. Clark, I am sorry for the delay in sending you our car. The main reason was because when we removed the last portion of flexibility from our engagement, the clutch behaved in a very unpleasant manner, as we expected. We do not believe that it will be possible to get reasonable results with the clutch control while the clutch is in this condition. Our efforts on the clutch control have proved entirely unsuccessful. If you believe, from previous experience that a clutch control will make a good clutch out of a bad one, then it is worth while you having the car, otherwise I do not think it is worth while sending it over. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
