86051. Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.4/MA.3.1.34. Re. BENTLEY INSTRUMENTS. Apparently I was misunderstood in my note Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.1/MA.2.1.34. In this note I referred not to the two lightened instruments which were returned by the bag, but to two ordinary type Bentley instruments with the dial markings reversed in order that the Speedometer could be read more easily from the Driver's seat in saloon Cars, i.e. the needle would be pointing downward at 50 M.P.H. instead of upwards. I have also received these instruments back again with BB's verbal comment that the same were OK. but nothing in writing. Perhaps you will be kind enough to look into the matter.
