X.4384. Extract. EP {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} 3/LG23.3.22. GOSHAWK. X.3949.X.4239 X.4219. ____________________ Sales were also asking why the automatic control for the ignition could not be complete so that the ignition is satisfactory at all speeds of the engine from starting up to 3000 revs. I have discussed this with FN. which he quite appreciates and feels the job is worth while tackling as being a very important selling point. The impression is, that some hand-control is required but it is chiefly to deal with varying conditions of engine running caused by various types of fuel or atmospheric conditions, but once having found the best hand-setting, the hand control need never then be touched, even for starting up or starting on the switch. EFC. {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} has got this matter in hand and we attache a copy of report in connection with this matter. It is quite possible that with this point has already received Sales consideration and what we are now proposing is to get the best possible compromise, at the same time I would like to hear from you so that we can answer similar criticisms in the future.
