WORLD RADIO LIMITED EDGWARE ROAD, LONDON, N.W.2 NEAR STAPLES CORNER 'Phones-GLADSTONE 4255-6 'Grams-PAPELIAN Phone LONDON Your Ref. Roy{Sir Henry Royce}/GEA. 7/VR.{E. S. Voller - Orders} March 23rd : 1938 Our Ref. W46/120/R.{Sir Henry Royce} Messrs. Rolls-Royce Limited, DERBY. Handwritten: 24/3/38 Dear Sirs: In reply to your letter of the 22nd instant, we want to be quite fair with you in stating that if you can possibly wait approx. 14 days our new model, taking the place of the Model 65, will be available, a description of which you will find on the enclosed leaflet, and this is the Model 850. The dimensions of this new job will be 11" long, 8½" high, 6" deep, from which you will see that it is not quite so deep as the Model 65. The SPOT Tuning is a great feature, as this does away with looking at the dial, and at least eight stations can be set in about 5 minutes, and all the other stations are available by the ordinary manual tuning. The new model is also much more powerful. We can, of course, send you on immediately the Running-Board Aerials, and the controls. If there is any room on the dash, we can offer you a very smart flush-fitting control panel, which is very suitable for your dash. This is square and has a round dial with the control knobs immediately below the dial. This can either be fitted behind the dash, leaving just the dial and two knobs visible, or it can be mounted from the front and held in place with the wing-nut provided. This Panel is 2¾" high by 2¾" wide, the centres of the knobs being 1¾". We also have available from stock numerous other types of controls with the dials and knobs in varying positions. Another very suitable type for your cars has the dial with the control knobs on either side. The distance between the centres of the knobs is 3", and the dial is 2" dia. Of course, we are not familiar with the layout of this particular dashboard, but if you can give us any further particulars, we shall be very pleased to assist you to the best of our ability. continued :- All contracts or agreements contained in this letter are contingent on Strikes, Accidents, Fires or any other causes beyond our control, and all contracts are subject to approval by the signature of a duly authorised executive officer of this company.
