PEREGRINE IGNITION DISTRIBUTOR We have had a failure of the double breaker distributor fitted to the Peregrine chassis in the Exptl. Dept. due to the contact levers shorting to the earthed base plate. This occurred due to the lever insulating bush working loose and we have cured the trouble by fitting bakelite insulating washers underneath each lever. We consider it essential that this additional insulation protection be provided and we should be glad if you would arrange to issue a modification accordingly. We also consider it wise to reinforce the L.T. insulation throughout the distributor such as increasing the thickness of insulators D.53047/8 and D.53038, as with the high compression Peregrine fairly high L.T. voltages will be met with.
