Bailey - Chief Engineer} ORIGINAL DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}2/M6.10.22. R RE. 6. EX. X3923 / X4555 / X.4085. We note that you are fitting side carriers for the spare wheels similar to our scheme for the Goshawk - N.sch.1249, which is of the trough type and highly suitable for the 40/50 where the wheel is well away from the wing and always in position. Our latest carrier for Goshawk in which the wheel stands on the running-board we feel is not quite so strong. We are anxious to get the trough carrier fitted to all 40/50s in future. We understand from Sales that you are fitting dipping head lights of the Barker design to this car. P.S. I fetched the Rover 8 from Tysely a week ago. A new engine & gables to tel have been fitted, gratis - quite good. Thanks very much for all you help & valuable assistance in its matter.
