9th. February 1938.

Messrs. Gallay Ltd.,
Vulcan Works,
Edgware Road,
Cricklewood,
LONDON, N.W.2.

For the attention of Mr.L.T.Delaney.

Dear Sirs,

We are in receipt of your letter of 4th. inst. and note the quotations contained therein.

We shall be interested to test samples of the (1), (4) and (5) type cores enumerated in your letter.

The most convenient form these samples could take would be blocks to drawing EB.3513 (which you already have) fitted with a suitable bottom plate to fit onto our bottom tank EB.3514 and top plate to EB.3585, (prints attached herewith).

The vertical distance from the lower side of the top plate to the top edge of the bottom tank should be 21.000" + .020.

If you are prepared to submit such samples will you please let us know - in any case small samples (say 4" square) of these cores would be of interest for visual inspection.

You do not state whether No.4 core, 3 row tube with steel fins, has brass or copper tubes - we would like to know this.

Yours faithfully,

for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
