17.4.24.

The following is a list of experiments which we should like your report upon as soon as possible.

EAC.111. ENGINE.

1. Is the modified Exhaust as quiet as standard 40/50 - if not, what is necessary to be done in order to make it as quiet?

2. Does the modification to the Exhaust make any difference to the floorboard temperature?

3. Does the modification to the Exhaust make any difference to the tendency for the water to boil?

4. Does the modification to the Exhaust alter the average temperature of the exhaust heated throttle?

5. Is the control for the Exhaust heated throttle satisfactory?

6. Is the sliding joint for the Exhaust Pipe satisfactory, and what limits can be used?

7. Is it convenient to time the Magneto with it in the new position.

8. Can the Dynamo Brushes be inspected, i.e., can the cover be got off - if not - why not?

9. Are the Dynamo and Magneto drives silent?

10. " " " " " oil retaining?

11. All cars fitted with the new brake scheme should have the modified type of Undershield and now that we have removed the dynamo, the model may require altering slightly.

12. All cars should be fitted with oil guards in the universal joints in the back of the Gearbox.

13. We want to know how the dip-stick in the Gearbox should be marked, and also whether we consider the method of fixing it satisfactory.
