W/P. To Sr. from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale} 1248 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale}1/AP.1.2.37. BENTLEY ALUMINIUM BRAKE DRUMS. We expect that by now you will have run some miles with your trials Bentley fitted with aluminium brake drums, 20% less rear braking and 35° cams on the servo. We should like to hear if the front drums are standing up or giving trouble, also if the servo fade is very noticeable. We have read the article on lead in brake linings that you sent us with considerable interest. The linings on 6.B.1V. and on 3.B.1V. shortly going to France contain lead.
