cooling - one thinks for stiffness it should be reeded - simple pressing from thick sheet turned all over,

or at least have outer flange.

(10) To make a suitable supporting pin one might use ferrule construction, thus -

Shallow serrations
Sheet steel plate

spanning both kept on by rivet.

One thinks this scheme seems light and simple, allowing ample thickness or stiffness in the drum.
