X35224 [stamped and over-typed] BM. c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. SFT{Mr Swift} c. [illegible] EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}9/H26.9.24 re. 20-HP. New Type Luggage Grid. With reference to the above which are now coming through on chassis on test, the following are comments on these, to which we shall be glad if you will give your attention:- 1. The luggage grid when in use is rather in the way of the petrol tank filler cap. It may be pointed out that it is possible to use this filler even when the carrier is in use, but we feel sure we shall receive complaints of its awkwardness in this respect. Is it definitely considered that this is the best we can do? 2. One of the cross- bars practically comes in contact with the supporting bars of the spare wheel carrier. We fear there will be some annoyance caused by these two features coming into contact. 3. The general finish of the luggage carrier is poor. "Scale" is left on the bars, and the pieces generally are poorly finished off, and we fear will not take the paint work well. This is a feature which we shall be glad if SFT.{Mr Swift} will give his attention. EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} | ||
