This test has been carried out on the samples of bakelite and continental bakelite submitted. A few preliminary tests were made on some odd pieces of other materials, the results of which, together with those of the bakelites, are given in the table below. In testing a piece of material, the method of procedure was as follows:- It was first decided from the thickness of the sample, and its composition, across what points of the secondary it should be connected.
