HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/GRY.{Shadwell Grylls}2/KW. 14th September, 1935. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Limited, Experimental Department, DERBY. Dear Sirs, Further to your letter of the 10th ult., dealing with the subject of CASTROL HI-PRESS GEAR OIL, we have now been able to discuss the point you raised with our chief chemist on his return from vacation. He informs us that no difficulty whatsoever should be experienced in the event of CASTROL HI-PRESS being mixed with other gear oils, and he states that such an admixture would be quite stable. When CASTROL HI-PRESS is filled into an axle that previously contained Whitmore's No. 0. Compound there is no reason to suspect that there will be separation of the two products and what little of the latter there is remaining in the axle after draining would not reduce the efficiency of CASTROL HI-PRESS. In regard to distribution in Europe, although CASTROL HI-PRESS is a comparatively recent addition to our list of standard grades, we have already been successful in fixing up a considerable number of stockists on the Continent. In view of its increasing popularity we feel confident that in a very short time CASTROL HI-PRESS will be universally obtainable, and users of Rolls-Royce and Bentley Cars will have no difficulty in obtaining supplies. Yours faithfully, C. C. WAKEFIELD & CO. LIMITED. Managing Director. Handwritten text: X1231 | ||
